I configured the English keyboard settings in Windows 7, so here’s a memo.

Change Windows 7 Keyboard to English Keyboard

  1. Click the Start button, type [REGEDIT] in the search field, and launch the Registry Editor from the suggestions
  2. Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE¥SYSTEM¥CurrentControlSet¥Services¥i8042prt¥Parameters]
  3. Change the value of [LayerDriver JPN] from [kbd106.dll] to [kbd101.dll]
  4. Change the value of [OverrideKeyboardIdentifier] from [PCAT_106KEY] to [PCAT_101KEY]
  5. Change the value of [OverrideKeyboardSubtype] from [2] to [0]
  6. Exit the Registry Editor and restart

Install CmdSpace

If you’re a Mac user using a US keyboard, “CmdSpace” is recommended.

CmdSpace (Windowsでもコマンド+スペースで日本語入力切替) - 関心空間

Pollux Program Lab

That’s all from the Gemba.
