What I Learned from One Week of Hard Work

This week I consciously worked harder than usual.

Working Hours

【Mon】08:00 - 23:10 【Tue】12:30 - 23:00, 23:45 - 0:30 【Wed】09:30 - 20:00, 23:00 - 1:00 【Thu】09:30 - 23:00, 0:00 - 3:30 【Fri】09:00 - 20:00

Tuesday started a bit later due to a health checkup, but I worked longer than usual on the other days.

I don’t care about opinions like “I work way more than that.” This is purely a comparison with my usual self.

Thoughts on Hard Work

  • You can get quite a lot done if you work hard all day
  • When you work hard, there's almost no time to look at Twitter or Hatena Bookmarks
  • Input decreased
  • Coming to work early in the morning gives you more breathing room and is good
  • If you push too hard, the latter half of the week gets tough
  • Working on the premise of long hours, I packed too much work and had no margin
  • When you work long hours and get tired, various inefficiencies become visible
And so on, I gained insights from trying hard work.

Especially, I realized “These things are technical debt for the DEV team and need to be improved quickly,” so next week I want to tackle the concerning issues one by one.

Yes.

That’s all from the Gemba.
