join.me Screen Sharing Service is Super Convenient for Pair Programming and Meetings
join.me is a super convenient service for quick screen sharing. I heard that Mercari engineers use it for pair programming, so I tried it in today’s meeting.
Today’s meeting involved looking at Backlog and Github issues while estimating development effort for next week’s tasks. While discussing things like “This feature will take 3 hours of development time, and maybe 2 hours for review and QA,” I was commenting on issues and inputting effort estimates into Backlog. Being able to share the screen for this local work instead of outputting to a large external display was very convenient.

Screencasting was very easy and convenient. The performance wasn’t heavy and it worked smoothly, so I recommend it.
That’s all from the Gemba.
