How to Fix "Failed to Connect to Server" Error

Update OBS Studio to Latest Version

First, check if you’re using an old version of OBS Studio.

When I actually encountered the “Failed to connect to server” error, even though macOS Mojave was up to date, the cause was using an old version of OBS Studio.

[Network] - [Bind to IP] Reconfiguration

If the error isn’t resolved after updating to the latest version of OBS Studio, try changing the “Bind to IP” setting in OBS Studio as follows:

◆ "Failed to connect to server" appears and streaming is impossible! (From memo article) In some environments, it seems that connections cannot be made without changing settings. In "Settings > Advanced" under "Network", "Bind to IP" If connection fails with "Default", change to the local IP assigned to your PC If connection still fails after changing, there may be issues with the destination server.
