I’ll share the content of my inquiry to AWS Support regarding applying credits to accounts under AWS Organizations.

Question: Timing When Credits Apply to Accounts Under AWS Organizations

It seems that credits have only been partially applied to accounts under AWS Organizations, so I’d like to confirm.

Do credits not apply to billing that occurred before the credits were applied?

We applied for AWS Activate in September with the intention of making it in time for October billing, but I’d like to confirm the timing of AWS Activate application and the specifications of billing and credit application.

Answer: Accounts Must Be Connected to the Relevant AWS Organizations Before the Credit Start Date

Not limited to AWS Activate credits, for accounts under Organizations to receive credit application, they must be connected to the relevant Organizations before the credit start date. When we checked, the credit start date was September 1st, while the connection date of the two relevant accounts to this Organizations was September 22nd, so unfortunately the relevant credits will not apply to the September usage of those two accounts.

※The credit start date refers to the date when the credit takes effect, not the date when the credit was applied. ※For the October usage of those two accounts, the credits are being applied without any issues.

That’s all from the Gemba, where I wanted to know the timing of credit application to accounts under AWS Organizations.
