I purchased Fire HD 8 Kids Model as a 5th birthday present for my child and configured Amazon Kids+ for safe use, so I’ll introduce the initial setup and recommended time limit settings.

Background: Want to Know Recommended Settings for Fire HD 8 Kids Model

I purchased the Fire HD 8 Kids Model, so I researched and configured recommended settings to prevent overuse.

Here are the articles I referenced:

Amazon Kids Parental Control Settings Changes

In my case, I set both “Weekdays” and “Weekends” to the following settings:

* Bedtime
  * End time: 20:00
  * Start time: 07:00

* Learning Time
  * Apps: None
  * Books: None
  * Videos: None
  * Prioritize learning time: OFF

* Activity-specific Time Limits
  * Apps: 15 minutes
  * Books: 15 minutes
  * Videos: 15 minutes
  * Web browsing: Restricted

Time Limit Reference Information

Referencing WHO guidelines, I set the “daily time limit” to a total of 45 minutes.

WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines for healthy childhood development were newly published on April 24, 2019, so I'm announcing them. Standards have been established not only for exercise and sleep time, but also for digital device usage time.

Excerpt from “Guidelines on Physical Activity, Sedentary Behaviour and Sleep for Children Under 5 Years of Age” Under 2 years: Screen time is not recommended 2-4 years: Screen time should be less than 1 hour per day

Screen time is defined as sitting and continuously watching TV, videos, and computer games.

That’s all from the Gemba on wanting to let children use the Fire HD 8 Kids Model while considering their health.
