I read 『ブリッツスケール:劇的な成長を遂げる唯一の方法(インタビュー)』リード・ホフマン(著) (Blitzscaling: The Lightning-Fast Path to Building Massively Valuable Companies), so I’ll share the insights I gained from the book.

Background: Reid Hoffman Interview

Since this is an interview book with Reid Hoffman, I decided to read it.

Below are quotes and notes from the parts that left an impression on me.

What you lose and gain with Blitzscaling

At Uber, during blitzscaling, executives would ask newly hired engineers: "Can you tell me the names of the three best engineers you've worked with at your previous job?" Then they would send job offers to those engineers whose names came up. No interviews. No reference checks. Just direct job offers. At the time, Uber urgently needed to expand its engineering department, and this was an important technique they employed.

? There’s also the approach of sending job offers directly to excellent engineers.

That’s all about thinking through hiring in blitzscaling. That’s all from the Gemba.
