How to Invite Team Members with Different Domain Email Addresses in Claude Team Plan

Recently, I subscribed to Anthropic’s Claude Team plan for a new project.

When I tried to invite team members, the following message appeared and I was stuck:

Invite team members Use Claude with your team. Invited members must have the same @example.com domain as you.

Our project consists of members with multiple email domains. With this specification, I could only invite members with the same domain as the contractor, which was problematic.

After some research, I found that you can allow multiple domains and invite members with different domains with a simple configuration change.

Solution: Add Allowed Email Domains

In conclusion, you can add email domains that are allowed to join your team from Claude’s admin settings screen.

Here are the steps:

1. Access Admin Settings

Log in with the team administrator account and access the admin settings screen from the following URL: https://claude.ai/admin-settings/organization

2. Update Organization Email Domains

Click the update link under the allowed email domains to open the “Update organization email domains” modal menu.

Enter and add the email domain used by the members you want to invite (e.g., another-team.codenote.net).

3. Re-invite Members

Once you’ve added the domains, return to the member invitation screen.

Members with email addresses from the domains you just added should now be able to be invited without any issues.

This setting allows you to smoothly invite all project members to the Claude team without being restricted by the contract domain. This is a very helpful feature for modern project teams that collaborate with group companies and external partners.

If you’re experiencing the same issue, please give this method a try.

That’s all from the Gemba, where we started operating Claude Team plan with multiple organizational email domains.
