I’d like to introduce the book “When the World Order Changes” that I recently read.

Below are quotes from memorable passages and my notes.

Chapter 3: The Arrival of Zombie Society

The Disappearance of Zombie Employees and Labor Shortage

Here, let me introduce a famous anecdote from the American talent consulting industry. It’s set up as a conversation between a CEO and CIO, where the CEO starts with:

We need to start reskilling our employees or we won’t be able to keep up with new business trends.”

The CIO responds:

“But what if we spend a lot of money training them with new knowledge and skills, and then they get poached by other companies?”

The CEO’s reply:

Having employees who can’t adapt to the new era continue to stay here would be an even bigger problem.”

📝 The investment in enabling all employees to fully utilize AI is close to this way of thinking.
